It is important to have a great team in place to offer the best service within a Pilates studio. That is one of the hallmarks of Evolution Pilates. Our team of instructors is exceptional, well-trained and long tenured. We have had very little turnover since we opened our doors, which creates a human connection with our clients that is second to none. Here is a little more information about our wonderful staff that makes the magic happen!
Founder of Evolution Pilates in 2003, Mo has been practicing since 1998. She is classically trained, and certified through Power Pilates and Polestar Pilates. She is also certified through TRX and NASM, and is a health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Lastly, she is a member of the Physical Mind Institute and Pilates Method Alliance, and a lifelong learner dedicated to maintaining a high standard of Pilates instruction in her studio. Her passion for Pilates is felt by everyone she trains.
In 2008, Ania had gotten her first taste of Pilates, and was hooked ever since! Growing up, she was an avid fitness and exercise enthusiast, which is what led her down the path of more advanced techniques. And this is where the inspiration to pursue a new career was born. Through some key networking and hard work, she was introduced to the highly respected regional director of Power Pilates, Juliet Harvey, and later received her Comprehensive Certification in 2011. Fast forward to today and you can coin Ania’s enthusiasm both contagious and inspiring!
Being an exercise enthusiast for many years, Christina began her career in fitness as a personal trainer. Then in 2011, she discovered her love for Pilates as a client at Evolution Pilates. This began her quest to become a Pilates instructor where she earned her certification in 2013. Christina is also a runner, and likes to be challenged physically. For many years, she was a “cardio junkie” and lifted weights, but she fell in love with Pilates because it was unlike anything else she had experienced in gyms. Classical Pilates is challenging, fun, and graceful; and it’s gotten Christina into better shape at age 50 than she was at age 30!
Classically trained in all apparatus through the Equinox Pilates training program, Deborah loves Pilates because it works for every “body;” including athletes, the elderly, those recovering from injury, people new to exercise, women, men and teens. Her personal journey began as a client; where she lost 60 pounds through Pilates training and by switching to a plant-based, whole-foods diet. Ask her about her amazing transformation!
Kathy received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Columbia University and has been treating patients for the past 26 years. She has been Polestar certified in Pilates since 2004 and worked in several studios in the PW area. Kathy joined the Evolution Pilates family in November of 2017.
Meryl has been teaching Pilates since 2005 and is certified through the PhysicalMind Institute. She is active in continuing her Pilates education and training with Power Pilates. Lastly, she teaches Marketing at Molloy College and is currently pursuing her doctorate degree at Pace University.
Rachel has always been a fitness enthusiast. But one Pilates class in 2011 changed her entire outlook on instruction. At Power Pilates NYC, Rachel came upon a method that challenged her and her clients to get to know their bodies and approach things as a whole, rather than focusing on isolated movements and weights. Aside from being certified as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant, Rachel is also a certified instructor in Spinning, Booty Barre and TRX group exercise.
Client turned Pilates instructor, Randi earned her certification in 2007 at Power Pilates in New York City, and has taught here ever since. She has also taught a Beginner Mat class through the Port Washington School District Continuing Ed program, and at other local gyms and studios. Randi stays current with her Pilates education by attending Continuing Education workshops and conferences throughout the country.
