Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Get Started?
We suggest you start with 5 private sessions before moving to a group class. This will give you a good introduction to the equipment and allow us to assess your strengths and weaknesses. A few private sessions will get you comfortable with the focus on form and alignment – pilates is never about range or speed.

How often should I take Pilates to see results?
Two to three times a week is ideal. Because you are working your muscles in a non-impact way, pilates may be done daily. Many students feel a difference after as few as 3 or 4 sessions.

Do I need to schedule classes?
YES, all sessions and classes are by appointment and have a 24-hour cancellation policy. You are always welcome to stop by to see if there is room in a given class, but we may not be able to accommodate you.

Am I locked into a particular day and time?
No - our class schedule is flexible – you may book standing appointments or plan as you go. Many clients like to have standing appointments due to the class size limitation, but others call when they want to come in.

Will I be sore after my session?
Pilates does not fatigue the muscles to exhaustion. Pilates leaves you energized and while you may experience some soreness as your body changes, you will not be overly sore.

What should I wear to my session?
We recommend comfortable exercise clothing; t-shirts, sweatpants, or leggings. Shorts should be longer or biker style. The work is performed without footwear.

What are the benefits?

  • Toning and Trimming
  • Flexibility, strength and alignment
  • Relief from back, neck and joint pain
